Are you looking for a new rewarding role in catering within social care?

This is a unique opportunity for an Assistant catering professional to maintain and support a kitchen within a 16 bed residential home at Ravenswood village in Crowthorne. Here we support Adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities. This role involves being a key team member in supporting to deliver a diverse and nutritious menu to cater to many dietary requirements, within the guidelines of Kosher cooking. Working as part of a close knit team, you will quickly become part of this special family. Training and support will be provided. The Kitchen team work on a three week rolling pattern, working one weekend in three.

Our fantastic site is made up of eleven different care homes both residential and supported living. Our village is set within numerous acres of open countryside; where we have an activity centre, a hydrotherapy pool and a horse-riding centre which offers a vibrant community for all our residents.

As an Assistant Cook you will:

  • Help to support and enrich the home by providing nutritious, well balanced and delicious food in accordance with all dietary requirements.    
  • Support in maintaining all aspects of the kitchen cleanliness. To ensure all served food is safe for consumption and in accordance with Kosher preparation and cooking guidelines.
  • Support in maintaining the high standard of kitchen and food hygiene within the kitchen and dining area.        
  • Adhere to the Health and Safety and Food Standard Agency requirements.     
  • Complete periodic deep cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas as scheduled.                                                                                                            

Skills as an Assistant Cook:

  • Previous experience working in catering
  • Good communicator and ability to stay calm when under pressure
  • Good initiative
  • Committed and Reliable
