SUMMER ACTIVITY PLAY WORKER

Norwood runs a summer scheme – Unity for neurodivergent children and young people or those with a neurodevelopmental disability and/or a physical disability. The summer scheme runs from 29th July - 30th August 2024. Please note there is a compulsory (paid) training week from 22nd – 26th July.

Our OFSTED registered children's summer scheme is fun packed with activities including arts and crafts, cookery, music and sport, with a day out each week. Our staff team help encourage social and friendship opportunities, while nurturing and preparing the young people to live their best independent lives.

Norwood's Unity Summer Scheme is currently seeking Activity Play Workers for its summer programme to deliver high quality sessions for children and young people.

Sessions run Monday to Friday 9.00 am – 5.00pm during the summer, and from 9am-6:30pm on outing days (Wednesday).

Key tasks include:

  • Providing our children and young people with a caring, fun and welcoming environment
  • Be involved in planning and setting up of activities 
  • Assist and/or support children and young people with toileting, eating and drinking, when necessary
  • Ensure sessions are being delivered to a high standard and are fun and engaging
  • Safeguard and ensure safety of the children and young people on site

Candidates who can commit to at least one week of the Summer Scheme will be considered. This does not include the mandatory week of training noted above.
