Norwood is currently recruiting a part time Café and Social Wellbeing Practitioner which will involve working closely with the Café Lead and wider team.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To be front of house, by taking orders, operating the contactless card payment system, exchanging cash and receipts, using the till and supporting the Café team to deliver a high quality service to customers.
  • Support the maintenance of the café seated area by clearing away used items, periodic cleaning and serving customers.
  • To support the preparation of the café and seating area for lunches, events and sessions in accordance with the needs of the service.
  • To support the Social and Wellbeing team to deliver sessions and events to people with a disability when necessary.
  • Work in a professional manner, serving people their items and understanding the needs and ability of customers. Work closely with your line manager and colleagues as necessary to ensure that any specific dietary support plans are adhered to. 
  • To ensure relevant health and safety guidelines are completed in line with kitchen regulations, including maintaining regular cleaning and food hygiene standards.
  • Work within the quality assurance framework ensuring that services delivered meet the standards required by Norwood, external regulation and Health and Safety protocols.

Essential:

  • Relevant experience of working in a front of house, catering/café environment.
  • Experience of handling cash, contactless systems and serving customers.
  • Grade C or above at GCSE level in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Food hygiene certificate (if not already achieved Norwood will support to achieve within the probation period)

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with people with learning disability 
  • Catering qualification
