Care Team Leader
Ravenswood Village, Crowthorne, Berkshire
£27,144 per annum (£14.50 per hour)
36 hours per week, to include weekends
We are looking for a Team Leader in our Pamela Barnett residential home, to join our friendly team within Ravenswood Village. We support people with neurodevelopmental disabilities to live their best lives.
The purpose of this role is to oversee the delivery of care and support within the home to ensure high quality of service provided. The majority of your time will be leading and supervising support workers to make sure that the care and support provided is person-centred and that each person living in the home is given information and advice in an accessible way that enables them to make informed decisions about their care and support. As a Team Leader you will also be involved in the recruiting and training of support workers as well as assisting the Home Manager in finances, rosters, reporting, maintenance and Health and Safety.
The ideal Care Team Leader must be a great communicator, work well within a team and have strong time management and leadership skills. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team within an ambitious charity. The culture is supportive, fun and high energy, and we take pride in the work we produce.
Norwood is a Jewish charity that supports and empowers neurodiverse children, their families and adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities to live their best lives. For more than 225 years Norwood has provided a lifeline to the children, adults and families we support, and is an important part of the Jewish community we serve. The reason we have been so successful in doing so is due to the passion and dedication of those who work here, which is critical to everything we do.
Pamela Barnett supports sixteen people who are aged from their early twenties to their late sixties. All have severe learning disabilities, autism and physical support needs. The majority of the people we support do not communicate verbally. Instead they use alternative methods of communication, i.e. Makaton, objects of reference, verbal sounds, facial expressions and body language.
All of the people living in Pamela Barnett require a high level of support in all aspects of their lives including personal care, eating & drinking, mealtimes and activities. They have varied hobbies and interests such as swimming, horse riding, trampolining, arts and crafts, baking, sensory sessions, music sessions, bingo, karaoke, meals out, theatre and cinema trips, bowling, walks, bike rides, music festivals and concerts, boat trips, skiing, tobogganing and holidays.
If you are interested in this role, please apply and our Recruitment Team will be in touch.
We reserve the right to close this advertisement early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.
Due to the high number of candidates who apply to our roles at Norwood, please note we can only provide feedback following an interview, if shortlisted.
